#08 Know-how

Our knowledge and our experience are our greatest success factors.

Sharing and growing knowledge

Digital transformation, the principles behind the idea of "new work", and the continuous enhancement of our internal structures and processes pose new challenges for knowledge management and know-how transfer. This is particularly true in connection with the implementation of our "Aareal 2020" programme for the future: we can only be successful by maintaining our unique know-how and expanding and sharing it across the departments, divisions and companies within our Group.

We have already established an intranet-based knowledge platform for this in the Housing Industry division. The solution that has been developed and is currently being tested allows information to be accessed digitally using an extremely wide range of search criteria and a large number of different media. The most important criteria it has to meet: extremely agile retrieval and the ability to access concrete knowledge anytime, anywhere. The platform has been designed in such a way that learning content can be incorporated flexibly and updated as needed, as well as tailored to individual requirements and specific events. All content items have a modular structure and are interlinked.

"We want knowledge management to primarily take the form of a knowledge dialogue and less of pure knowledge retrieval. At Group Business Consulting & Services, knowledge management is designed as the basis for autonomous, flexible learning and hence also serves to improve client focus, agility and innovative capacity within Aareal Bank Group."

The demands that digital transformation is making on knowledge management, and the opportunities this offers, can be seen among other things from the growing use of big data. One example is our market:data project. Further information on this can be found in the article in our online Annual Report entitled "Reset across the board? The digital property industry".

What we are working on
